LEVELS

BEGINNERS  I

Mondays:            5:45 - 8:15pm         or

Wednesdays:     5:45 - 8:15pm         or

Saturdays:          9:30 am- 12:00 pm 

Will allow you to ask and answer questions dealing with every day situations in the present tense; give and get information, make hotel and travel reservations, order meals, etc; and speak on a basic level about yourself, your family, work, etc.

We make an emphasis in listening comprehension and conversation, but you will also learn correct grammar.

BEGINNERS II

Mondays:            5:45 - 8:15pm     or

Wednesdays:     5:45 - 8:15pm     or

Saturdays:          9:30 am- 12:00 pm 

At the completion of this level you will be able to participate in casual conversations; narrate, describe, and explain not only current but also past activities.

INTERMEDIATE I

Tuesdays:            5:45 - 8:15pm            or

Saturdays:           9:30 am- 12:00 pm 

Will allow you to communicate facts and explain points of view in an uncomplicated fashion; handle such forms as the present, preterit, and imperfect; understand everyday topics, common personal and family news, well-known events and routine matters involving the home and workplace.

At the completion of this level, you will receive the Proficiency in Spanish Certificate from HablEspana.

INTERMEDIATE II

Tuesdays:           5:45 - 8:15pm     or

Saturdays:          9:30am - 12:00 pm 

You will start using  and understanding the subjunctive mode in conversation. You will be able to communicate your opinions annd understand discussions on concrete topics related to particular interests.

ADVANCED I

Thursdays:         5:45 - 8:15pm    or

Saturdays:         9:30am - 12:00 pm 

Will allow you to speak with sufficient structural accuracy and vocabulary in order to participate in most formal and informal conversations on practical, social, and professional topics.

Through dialogues and varied materials, your Spanish will acquire fluency and you will understand idioms and more complex structures. Even though any grammar questions can be answered, the emphasis is in active conversation.

ADVANCED CONVERSATION CLASS

Thursdays:  5:45 - 8:15pm or

Saturdays:  9:30 - 12:00 pm 

You will review advanced grammar while you broaden your vocabulary and develop fluency. You will get familiar with more complex structures in the subjunctive mode.

At the completion of this level, you will receive the Certificate of Fluency in Spanish from HablEspana.

If you miss a class

 If you miss a class, contact us and we will send you the homework. We can also arrange for you to attend a class on a  different day whenever available. (Please, try to keep make-ups to a minimum to avoid disrupting the continuity of the classes)

Activities

In order to see each student's progress, at the end if each session, all students from Beginners I to Advanced II get together to role-play different situations in Spanish that they prepared during class. This has proved to be the best way to see the student's fluency and progress.

At the end of the session, students choose a fun outing. Salsa classes, going to restaurants and movies have been the most popular ones.
